Challenge:

Maine residents know that the future of the states lies with its youth, however the task of enacting lasting, effective change in the state has been a challenge.

Solution:

Qualidigm coordinates the Maine Child Health Improvement Partnership (ME CHIP), which is part of the National Improvement Partnership (NIPN). Some of the topics the ME CHIP is working on are improving the rates of developmental and autism screening, immunizations, mental/behavioral health, and oral health.

Benefit:

First STEPS (Strengthening Together Early Preventive Services) was one of the first projects overseen by the ME CHIP and it has helped improve immunization, developmental, autism, lead and anemia screenings for Maine’s youth. Original materials produced and distributed by this project included toolkits, posters, periodicity schedule of preventative services, billing tips, measures list, and more.
