Designated as a Patient Safety Organization from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, offering education and resources on patient safety to its members.

Challenge:

State of Connecticut law requires that hospitals and outpatient surgical facilities report adverse events to the Department of Public Health and maintain membership with a designated Patient Safety Organization.

Solution:

Qualidigm received a designation as a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) by the Connecticut Department of Public Health in 2004, and offers local interactive educational programs, activities and information on patient safety to its members that can be adapted to best meet members’ unique environments.

Benefit:

Hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and behavioral health facilities within Qualidigm’s PSO receive on-site facility visits, a needs assessment, and help with identifying effective solutions and resources to improve their patient safety practices. These facilities also receive a robust and comprehensive source of patient safety information to the Qualidigm PSO members through a quarterly newsletter with the most current latest research, articles, tools, and government mandates related to patient safety.
