Middletown, CT, August 19, 2003 – The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Partnership, Inc. announced that Qualidigm®, Connecticut’s health care Quality Improvement Organization is the recipient of two silver 2003 CQIA Innovation Prizes. Qualidigm’s two silver awards recognize its efforts to improve efficiency in internal and external customer service systems.
One effort decreased the volume of misguided incoming calls by 24.3% for its Medicaid telephone review services. The other effort established an invoice reminder system to improve the timeliness of invoice submissions by consultants that resulted in a nearly four-fold improvement in timeliness. “Connecticut’s growth depends on innovative organizations.
Out of the nearly 243,000 businesses in Connecticut, winners of the CQIA Innovation prize represent the creativity, ingenuity, and drive that will lead Connecticut’s economic growth,” says Sheila Carmine, executive director of The CQIA Partnership, Inc.
Says Marcia Petrillo, CEO of Qualidigm, “We apply the principles of quality improvement within our own organization and are very pleased to receive these awards recognizing the positive outcome of our internal efforts.”
The CQIA Partnership, Inc. sponsors a three-tiered program that recognizes organizations for their accomplishments: CQIA Innovation Prize, Connecticut Breakthrough Quality Award, and Connecticut Leadership Quality Award. The CQIA is the state-level quality award based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence.
Qualidigm received its awards at the 16th Annual Conference on Quality and Innovation at Foxwoods Resort Casino on October 16, 2003.
